What can I use ‘Meridian Therapy’ (MT) for?

Does MT really work?

Yes, MT does really work. Read the Success Stories on this site. The only way you'll know unequivocally, though, is when you experience the amazing results that it produces.

Tapping is as reliable as flicking a light switch. You can switch a negative feeling off easily, and it works almost every time.

Most people are able to focus on a feeling and experience how MT works right away. The best part is that you do not need faith, willpower or be in ‘believe mode ‘All that you need to do is follow simple guidelines given by the Practitioner and be in ‘neutral,’ that is, be open to experience the results. As simple as that!

Can I get a quick and simple experiential insight into the effects of MT?

Sure, try this;
Gently tap about seven times on each of the following points whilst reading the following sentence;

“I choose to be and feel Calm, Confident, In Harmony and at Peace”

Tap on;-
1. Top of the head along the centre part
2. At the beginning of the eyebrow just above and to one side of the nose
3. On the bone bordering the outside corner of the eye (the end of the eyebrow)
4. On the bone under the eye below your pupil
5. On the area between the bottom of your nose and the top of your upper lip
6. Midway between the point of your chin and the bottom of your lower lip
7. Collarbone point, just below the collarbone on the fleshy part
8. Gammut point; on the indent between the little finger and ring finger knuckles (make a fist with your hand)

Do six rounds. One round is going from points 1 to 8 once.

Please note that what I have described above is a very 'basic' Meridian therapy protocol, its aim is to instil a sense of peace and calm. For complex issues like fears, chronic anxiety, chronic stress, self image, phobias etc. there is a need for more advanced protocols facilitated by a qualified and experienced Practitioner.

What is the scientific evidence that Meridian Therapy works?

Below is an extract from a report on a four week trial. The report compares conventional treatments, that is, talk therapy and medication, against Energy Therapy intervention, relative to effects on the brain and long term longevity.

The images are digitized EEG brain scans. The colors represent the ratio of brain frequencies (alpha, beta, and theta waves) and sub-frequencies within given areas of the brain.

How does it work?

Electrical messages are constantly sent through your body to keep it informed of what’s going on. Without this energy flow you would not be able to see, hear, taste, smell or touch.

It has been proven that disruptions or blockages in these electrical pathways can cause limiting thoughts and emotions and lead to ill-health.

Pain is the sign that something is wrong with the energy flow in the body.

MT uses gentle pressure on meridian points – the body’s electrical, or energy pathways – to change the way energy travels around the body. By tapping and pressing on the meridian points, small shock waves are sent through the energy system which stimulates smooth flow and clears blockages. MT is related to acupuncture, only we target specific emotions and use finger tapping rather than needles. MT is like talk therapy with an additional physical component which allows us to get to the issues faster and resolve them more thoroughly. MT is like hypnotherapy in that we're dealing with the mind, and in addition, working with the body’s subtle energies for a more complete resolution of issues.

MT is like counselling with extra physical actions that more quickly give you true emotional freedom. Since Einstein's discovery that everything is energy, it really isn't surprising that you can address your emotions by manipulating your energy system. What is surprising is that modern medicine has ignored this approach for so long.

Of course, it used to be thought that any talk of our 'energy system' was Eastern mysticism. But we now have the technology to measure the energy flow. You can hold a ‘ground’ in one hand and place an electrode on the meridian points and measure the strength of the flows. We are all familiar with EEG, EKG etc.

A good analogy for MT is to think of a TV with its antenna out of alignment. There is a picture but it is covered in static. In order to get a clear picture we must realign the antenna. The TV static is a metaphor for the depression, anxiety, anger, etc. By tapping on meridian points with our fingers we correct the alignment, clear the negative emotion and regain clarity, discrimination harmony and peace.

Where are the Tapping Points?

Tap on each point using two fingers of one hand, (does not matter which one) gently but firmly, about seven times, then move on to the next point.


Head & Torso Meridian Points

1. Top of the head along the centre part
2. At the beginning of the eyebrow just above and to one side of the nose
3. On the bone bordering the outside corner of the eye
4. On the bone under the eye below your pupil
5. On the area between the bottom of your nose and the top of your upper lip
6. Midway between the point of your chin and the bottom of your lower lip
7. The junction where the sternum (breastbone) collarbone and the first rib meet. To locate it, first place your forefinger on the U-shaped notch at the top of the breastbone,(about where a man would knot his tie) From the bottom of the U, move your forefinger down towards the navel 25 mm. and then go to the left (or right) about 25mm.
8. For men, 25mm. below the nipple. For ladies, where the underskin of the breast meets the chest wall.
9. On the side of the body, at a point even with the nipple (for men) or in the middle of the bra strap (for women). It is about 100mm. below the armpit.

Hand Meridian Points

10, 11, 12, 13. The outside edge of each finger, at a point even with the base of the fingernail.
14. As shown, where the base of the hand meets the wrist. Just on the crease lines of the wrist.
The Set Up Point. Between the top of the wrist bone and the base of the baby finger
The Gamut. On the back of either hand. About 12mm. behind the mid point between the knuckles at the base of the ring finger and the little finger. The middle point of the 3 points shown on the above diagram.

How many sessions will I need?

The average is three to five sessions; however, it depends on the individual and the issues that need to be addressed. While MT has been known to create “one minute miracles,” most people realize quickly that the issue they want to resolve is connected to other issues. Each of those issues, in turn, typically has multiple aspects. We will accomplish a lot in our first session, and it's not uncommon for additional aspects of the presenting issue to arise thereafter.

The one-session client could be forgiven for mistakenly thinking “I tried MT and it didn't work,” when in fact, it worked very well AND previously hidden aspects of the problem are presenting themselves for healing. Subsequent sessions give us a chance to address those aspects.

How soon will I notice results?

Results are invariably witnessed after your first session. Most people report that they feel much “lighter” and “clearer” during their first session and thereafter. That is because they literally are. However, it is not “I won the lottery” kind of a feeling; it is just a calm and balanced feeling of confidence and clarity.

Clients often “forget” that intensity was so strong or sometimes even ask me “What emotion are we working on?” The memory of a specific traumatic episode fades and it seems like that horrible thing has happened not to me, but to “him” or to “her.”

Are you a licensed physician?

I am not a Medical Doctor. I am an MT Advanced Practitioner and a Certified Hypnotherapist. I facilitate a process which identifies past unpleasant, stressful and/or traumatic experiences and/or events that we would rather never happened or we wish unfolded differently. Once identified, we then proceed to resolve the subconscious imprint that these have created. Often (80% of the time in my experience so far) this resolution also dissolves physiological conditions. In other words we work with the energy structure that underlies the emotions that may have created the condition.

I am constantly in awe at the results which manifest with my clients. I have witnessed endometriosis disappear as well as the onset of cervical cancer, chronic fatigue resolve after suffering with it for 16 years, arthritis, chronic back pain, long standing allergies (12 years), anxiety, asthma, eczema to name but a few.
